Day 4 - Mazatlan

Day 4 was Mazatlan and it was OK. I really wasn't all that impressed, but that just means I will have to go back to be impressed. Right?

We started off the day with breakfast as usual. Then we decided to finally get off the boat at about 10:00 am. This is what we saw as soon as we got on the trolley that would take us to the port. As we were walking through the port trying to figure out how we were going to see Mazatlan we saw a sign for a trolley tour of Mazatlan. The tour would take us to all the sightseeing stops and let us shop. So it said. We bought our tickets and grabbed a seat.

The tour started with a short drive along the coast and we could see the boat from the top of one of the hills. The we were off to see the cliff divers of Mazatlan. THAT was cool. We didn't actually see anyone dive off the cliff because the guy that was doing the jumping hurt himself right before we got there. We still got some great pictures though!

After the cliff diver, we took the trolley over to the Cathedral of Mazatlan. It was so pretty. And here is a little tid-bit of information for you. Upon completion of the cathedral, there were 28 Star of David's put into the stain glass windows in the cathedral. The windows were put in as a tribute to the Jewish families that donated money to have the cathedral built. And the reason the number 28 was chosen was to represent the 28 days in a Jewish calender month.
After the Cathedral, we went to the shopping district. We were told when we bought our tickets that we would be able to get off here and shop and that there would be a shuttle to come pick us up later. That was not the case. Well after a not so wonderful afternoon portion of the trip we made our way back to the port.

Once back at the port, we ran into one of our waiters, Christian and his friends the chef Marcelo. They asked if we wanted to join them for a drink and we decided to to grab a seat and have some fun. Four beers a piece later, Marcelo had to get back to the boat and DeeDee and I thought it might be a good idea if we headed back to the boat and rested a little before dinner. We were very tired and felt a little dirty as the trolley was an open air trolley and it was a very humid day out.
We headed back to the boat, DeeDee took a nap and I went up to the pool for a little. After the pool it was time to head back to the room, shower and get ready for a nice casual dinner.
We met our other dinner guests this night at dinner. They were a nice couple by the name of Stephanie and David. They were newlyweds on their honeymoon. There were a lot of newlyweds on their honeymoons on this trip.
After dinner it was another early night.... with another friend waiting for us when we got back...

Day 3 - Cabo San Lucas

All I have to say is I LOVE CABO SAN LUCAS!!!

As you probably guessed, day 3 was Cabo San Lucas. Our first port of call. DeeDee and I started off the day with an early (9:30) breakfast as the ship pulled into Cabo. We got into Cabo at about 10:30 am and we had an Exploration planned for 11:30am. On the first day we got on the boat, DeeDee and I signed up for Snuba. Well this was the place to do it.

We were scheduled to meet other people on our Exploration at 11:15 am in one of the lounges on the boat, the Some Enchanted Evenings Lounge. We go there at about 10:45 am and decided to sit and enjoy the scenery out the windows.

We sat for about 25 minutes and then our group was called and it was time to go down to the tender that would take us to the port. Cabo was the only port that we could not pull right up to. The tender to the coast was about 15-20 minutes and very choppy.

Once we got the the port, we got off the tender, found our Exploration and had to sign releases. After we did that we sat and people watched for a few minutes while we waited for the little boat that would take us to the SNUBA platform. Once we got to the platform it was time to suit up. All I have to say is thank god I had put a wetsuit on before and that I had some expierence with a regulator beacuse if I didn't, it would have been a lot more difficult.

We had our breifing session and off we went. I had to put my camera away once we got to the platform beacuse it was not a vey big platform and I didn't want to risk dropping my camera in the water, so sorry no wetsuit pictures. So after we suited up, it was time to dive. SNUBA is a combination of snorkeling and scuba diving. It is kinda cool. So you have your regulator and mask, but instead of having the air tank on your back it follows you above the water in raft. You can only go down about 20 feet, but its still better then just at the surface. We were down for about 1 1/2 hours and I made almost the whole time. About 5 minutes before it was over my ears stopped equalizing. We went back to the platform and got out of our wetsuits. After we were back in our clothes and dried off we went back to the port to get some lunch and do some shopping.

We decided that lunch first would be the best choice. So, we had lunch at Cabo Wabo and had a blast. The food was great and the service wasn't to bad either. We saw all the pictures of Sammy Hagar and all the famous people that had eaten there. It was pretty cool.

After Cabo Wabo we walked around, did some shopping and then we decided that "when in Mexico, you have to have a beer." So, we found a little bar right near Cabo Wabo. I don't remember the name, but their sign had a hippo head on it. Then we sat down and had a beer.

Well, I had half a beer and DeeDee finished mine for me.

After our beer it was time to start heading back to the boat and take our time doing it. Once we got back to the port we decided that it was a good place to catch up on our email. The internet cafe at the dock was really affordable. We sat and emailed then got in line to take the tender back to the boat. While we were waiting in line, a pirate ship decided to pass on by.

Dinner that night was casual and just a chance to relax. After dinner I went walking around the boat.

Then it was off to bed. And look who was waiting for me.

Day 2 - At Sea

Day 2 started out at about 8:30 and was just a lot of relaxing and getting adjusted to the rocking of the boat. I sat out by the pool for a few hours and met some people. And next thing I knew it was time to get ready for dinner.

This was our first of two formal dinner nights. So we showered, got dressed and were off to dinner. For the appitizer I had escargo, or snails. And it was VERY good. And again next thing we knew it was almost 11:00 and we were off to bed.

When we got back to the room there was someone else there waiting for us.

Day 1 - Boarding the Ship

Well everyone, hello! I know that I have been M.I.A. for a few days, but internet access is not cheap at sea. So here is a day by day recount of the cruise. It was AMAZING, by the way. Each day will be a new post with pictures, so dont worry! Some days have more pictures than others, so don't be disapointed if there are few lacking.

Day 1 - Boarding the Ship

Well, the morning started with DeeDee coming to pick me up at about 10:30 in the morning and off we were. Well not really. We were off to her house so her dad could take us to the Port of Los Angeles in San Pedro. It took us about an hour and a half to get down there from Calabasas. We did hit a little traffic. Once we got down to the port it was about 2:00 in the afternoon and we were right on schedule. We got our bags out of the trunk, gave them to the appropriate people and were off with our carry-ons to get checked in and our SeaPass cards. The SeaPass card is basically your EVERYTHING card on the ship. Its your room key, your credit card, your ID your pass to the shows, EVERYTHING.
After we got our SeaPass cards and were on the boat (at about 3:00), we went to find out room. We were on Deck 3 at the bow of the boat (the front) the room was nice and big. We put our bags down, sat for a minute then went to wander. We found the Casino right away and made a mental note. We then found the Guest Relations Desk and registered ourselves for and Exploration in Cabo. We decided to do Snuba (more on this later), we also signed DeeDee up for the Canopy Zip Line tour in Puerto Vallarta which I was already signed up for. When we went to sign DeeDee up it said that the trip was full, but the guest relations assistant that was helping us said that he would get her on the trip. So, after that we went to wander some more before the Saftey Drill at 4:30.

After the Safety Drill, we decided to relax for a little bit and wouldn't you know it, our bags were waiting for us in the room when we got back. Amazing! So once we got back to the room and our bags were there, we decided to unpack. I thought I had over-packed, but did not indeed. So by the time we had unpacked and gotten settled it was time to get ready for dinner. We went up to the Aquarius Dinning Room and were shown to our table, we were at table 51 for the second seating. Forgive me for not remembering what we had to eat, it was a few days ago.
By the time dinner was over it was 10:00 p.m. and believe it or not we were exhuasted. So, it was off to bed for us.

The First Day of the Rest of My Life

I start this blog with a promise to all that chose to read it, " I will be nothing but honest and truthful to myself and everyone I love." Now.... with that being said. This blog will be not only a type of play by play of the everyday in my life, but a journal and proof of the path that I chose to take to find myslef. I dont promise to be nice, I dont promise that I wont offend some people with the decisions I make, but I promise to be truthful.

I am about to leave for what was to be a honeymoon, instead though I am looking at this oportunity as a new beginning and a great way to start finding myself. I will not be posting any pictures untill I get back from my trip. And then be ready for LOTS of pictures and stories to go with them. I feel like the journeys I will embarkng on will help me figure out who I am. What I want in life and what truly makes me happy.

This first blog entry is short I know, but you have start with baby steps. So this is the first of many more steps to come!

See you all when I get back!!!!
